Public Speaking Skills Training: Public Speaking Seminar - Anxiety Tips

The number of public speaking anxiety tips that are available is endless. T hey ranges from medical intervention to just good old fashion pulling up of your boot straps. We must all find the tips that work best for us in combating public speaking anxiety. Some of the best tips I've ever used involve me getting personal with the audiences. For example, self-deprecating humor can go a long way in breaking the ice and making you more comfortable. It is one of the public speaking anxiety tips that put you in control of laughing with you. When we make a little fun of ourselves we show the audience that we don't take ourselves too seriously but we do take our subject matter seriously. The number of public speaking anxiety tips that are available is endless. They range from medical intervention to just good old fashion pulling up of your boot straps. We must all find the tips that work best for us in combating stand up anxiety.

Another great tool to break that anxiety is humor. Well placed, crafted humor can really warm an audience up and give you that certain edge taking control of the presentation. Humor just naturally makes us relax and when we're relaxed we can adequately tell people that we have to tell them. Humor, as one of the public speaking anxiety tips put you in control of the situation.

Something else you may want to consider is one of the public speaking anxiety tips that I personally find to be the most beneficial, before I launch into all of my information and data, is let them know I'm nervous. Letting your audience, whether it is a small audience are a larger audience, know you're "a little nervous" can go a long way. People are generally pretty forgiving and no matter how confident they may be on stage, most people understand public speaking anxiety.

Also never feel like you have to say you're sorry during a presentation just because you made a mistake. We all make mistakes - just do a quick "oops" and move on. We all make mistakes. Don't go into details about the mistake because this can distract you more than the mistake and will just take on a life of its own and replicate itself.

While it's hard to convince people who have public speaking anxiety, tips will help, if you find your calming elements and use what you are most comfortable with your presentation will go great.
