Public Speaking Skills Training: Three Keys to Your Speaking Success

I have found that if you are searching for fantastic public speaking topics that will result in powerful and successful presentations, there are three important keys to consider. Great speaking presentations are based on:

your passion and knowledge,

your ability to teach or impart something of value and

the relevancy of your topic to your audience.

There are thousands of lists of potential public speaking topics out there, but an audience will be able to tell in about two seconds if you are not passionate about your topic. When looking for suitable speech topics, take a look around you. Look at the things in your life that you are interested in and passionate about. What makes you mad? What makes you happy? What do you know about? What have you experienced and what do you want to share? These speech topics create powerful emotion in you, and it is likely that they will create powerful emotion in your audience. This is a sure recipe for success in any public speaking presentation. Your individual passion will override any nervousness and this passion will powerfully connect you to your audience.

Make your presentation memorable for your audience by teaching them something of direct value. Aim to identify a collective problem individuals in the audience may be having and try to solve it. This gem is sure to give you maximum impact in your public speaking talk. Include examples so the audience relate to your information and can practically apply in it their own lives.

Do your homework on your audience, and choose a public speaking topic that is relevant and interesting for them. Know exactly who your audience are by finding out things like age, gender, interests, locality. What do you think they would like to get out of your presentation? Don't be afraid to ask people prior to the event "What would you like to learn from a presentation on ...?" Just as in business, market research is King. Imagine you are one of your audience, and think carefully what would you like to hear, know or learn from the talk.

We all have a wealth of knowledge inside ourselves - it is called life experience. Draw on it when looking for great public speaking topics, and don't underestimate the value of your own knowledge. There are people out there who would love to know what you know about a particular subject, and who would pay you for that information. Take a moment to consider a career in professional speaking - a public speaking business can provide a fabulous lifestyle and significant financial rewards. You can give a great gift to others by drawing from your own life experiences and imparting your knowledge through your professional public speaking presentations.
