Public Speaking Training Course Tips to Get Rid of Public Speaking Anxiety Fast!
Public speaking anxiety can leave you crippled in the dust if you don't have any idea of how to manage it. Here are three tips that will help you if you are in front of the audience and need some quickie methods.
Take deep breaths - When you're about to go up to the podium your heart is racing and your mind is totally unstable. This is a good time to take some deep breaths. You may want to practice this now. Take a long deep breath and let it out fast. Then on your last breath, take a long deep breath and hold it. hold that breath until you feel like it's a good time to let go. This relaxes the muscle and slows down a rapidly beating heart. It also distracts the mind from focusing on all your dreadful public speaking anxiety symptoms.
Find a stable point - before you go up to speak decide what your point of focus will be. Decide it before hand so you can be prepared. It can be a friend who has agreed to be your stable point or an object in the room. You can have as many stable points as you like in a room. Having a stable point to focus on is like having a friend who knows that you're gonna feel nervous, and the agreement is that you will be supported if you focus here. This also act as a distraction method to keep the mind from focusing on those nasty public speaking anxiety symptoms.
Practice beforehand - For a speech you prepare yourself, just stand in front of an audience of your family or your dolls or your pets or simply a mirror and do your speech. Practice it several times.
If your speech is impromptu then this is how you prepare: Imagine yourself in front of the audience doing your speech. In this imaginary scene you should hold the feeling of confidence and poise as you would if you were a perfect speaker. Spoken words are not necessary holding the feeling is good enough, but if you like you could hum as if you were speaking. You can also use this method with a prepared speech.
