The Art of Public Speaking
Seminar (Half-Day)
Making a presentation can be a somewhat
taxing, event for those who have a great deal of experience presenting.
In fact, there are those who fear public speaking more than they do
death. While that may be hard to believe, just watch how people clam up
when they are simply called upon by a presenter to answer a question or
provide some personal input on a particular topic. Yet public speaking
does not have to be that difficult. In fact, with the appropriate
training and instruction, nearly anyone can become an accomplished
communicator and speaker. In many ways it is a mental block – one that
many of us simply need to decide to overcome – that keeps us from
performing our best. Our interactive training program, The Art of Public
Speaking, provides participants with a half-day introduction into how
making a presentation can be stress free and effective in the business
world or outside of the workplace.
By far, one of the most valuable skills one can possess is the ability
to communicate clearly and succinctly. The Art of Public Speaking
seminar focuses on providing participants with a high level introduction
to effective communication when making a presentation. Specifically,
topics covered including preparation, structure, delivery and strategy.
Participants practice by preparing and delivering a presentation that
will be used throughout the training program. Each person will be
videotaped three times and will then receive coaching and feedback from
the group and an instructor. This learner-centered and non-threatening
format allows participants to evaluate personal progress when making a
presentation and alter any distracting behaviors or areas of needed
improvement. No other half-day presentations skills seminar uses such a
comprehensive and effective teaching method. Additional time is spent
working on individual exercises, question and answer sessions and group
activities. All presentations skills taught in this class are modeled by
our senior instructors and enable participants to understand how making
a presentation can be effortless.
